What types of houses do you buy?

We buy all kinds of houses, regardless of the style, age, or condition.

Does it matter if my house needs repairs?

No! In fact, we love to buy houses that need a little – or a lot – of TLC.  If you’re concerned about the amount of work needed, give us a call and we’ll take a look at it for you.

Are there any fees or costs if I sell to you?

No!  We never charge a fee to look at or buy your property.  We’re paying you! 

When do I have to move out?

Unlike a lot of the large iBuyers, we can work with your schedule.  You don’t have to move until you’re ready and have a new home lined up.  In some cases we can even help you stay in your home if you’re facing foreclosure.

What if there is a lien, such as taxes, on the house?

We will work with the title company to get any back taxes or other liens paid off from your proceeds at closing.  You do not have to come up with the money to pay them off ahead of time.

What if I am behind on my mortgage?

If you’re behind on your mortgage, we will work with your current lender to get that paid off so that you do not go into foreclosure, thus ruining your credit.  In some cases, you may even be able to stay in your home after we purchase it.

Do I have to do any work on the house?

Nope!  We buy houses as-is, so any repairs that are needed we will take care of ourselves.

How do you decide how much to offer for my house?

Figuring out what a house is worth is a bit of an art form, but there are some standards that we – and everyone else, including Realtors – must adhere to.  We will figure out the highest market value possible if the home is repaired to be in the best condition.  The market value is based on recently sold comparable homes in your area that are in the same condition.  Once we have an idea of what it will cost to renovate the house, and the we have the market value, we can then figure out a fair cash offer for you.

When do I get the money?

Just like any other house sale, the title company will transfer the money to you from us once everyone has signed the closing documents. The timeframe varies, but we can usually close very quickly depending on the status of the title, the specifics of our offer to you, and your own schedule.

How do I know you’re not scamming me?

There are a lot of wholesalers and iBuyers out there who will often tell you anything you want to hear in order to get your house.  At Star Home Buyers, we don’t buy every single house – if we think you would get more money by selling to someone else, we’ll tell you.  Our goal is to help you, and in the process make a little money ourselves.  If the deal isn’t a win-win for everyone, we don’t do it.
